On 29 July the Company was notified by the Commanding General, 1st Marine Division, through secret message 281134Z which directed relocation to a position near the Hwachon Reservoir to conduct special amphibious reconnaissance training. Special training sessions were conducted until 12 August when the Company Command Post was relocated to the Yanggu area.
