Agreat disservice would be done to the brave men of the 1st Marine Division who journeyed from Wonsan to the heights at Koto-ri, Hagaru-ri, and Yudam-ni if notice were not taken of the weather and the intense suffering that it caused. The bitter winter conditions which fell upon the Marines as they advanced north from Wonsan to Yudam-ni became progressively more and more insurmountable.
